Cleaning Process

Our cleaning process is based on a methodical approach where the fibre content and material of each carpet and upholstery is carefully assessed before performing any work.

Here’s a detailed breakdown of the steps involved:

A technician is sent to your property to conduct a survey so that the safest and most efficient carpet cleaning method can be determined.

The survey involves a series of thorough tests which are useful in determining the carpet’s fibre content and construction – this information is then shared with you along with a simple explanation of the best cleaning method and why it would be ideal for your individual carpet and/or upholstery cleaning. Your patience is duly appreciated during this process.

However, a common method we incorporate for carpet cleaning is hot water extraction – known ordinarily as steam cleaning – which involves hot water injection into your carpet under high pressure after which the water is extracted out.

While the water is being extracted, dirt and soiling is extracted along with it. Just so you know, we also pre-treat stains in order to improve the efficacy of the cleaning agents we use. Additionally, we use a pre-spray to ‘upset’ any surface tension in your carpet. This is what allows water to go in deeply into the carpet right before the extraction process.

    Stain and Spot Removal

There’s an entire science behind spot and stain removal which is why we attend industry training courses from time to time to stay on top of emerging trends and best practices.

Our range of industry-leading equipment for spots and stains removal combined with our best-in-class cleaning solutions aid us in removing the toughest of stains.

However, depending on the level of cleaning required on your carpets and upholstery, we may or may not need to take this step. For instance, if stains and posts can be removed through vacuuming, we may skip this step entirely, as subjecting your carpet to cleaning agents unnecessarily might do more harm than good.

In addition, stains also come in many varieties – therefore, this is somewhat of a situational step as we might treat spots and stains in one of the next steps.

We would strongly recommend against buying an over-the-counter carpet cleaning solution and attempting to get rid of stains and spots yourself. Professional carpet cleaning removes stains in a way that leaves your carpet feeling and looking completely new – attempting to do this yourself might exacerbate the problem.

Furthermore, there are different kinds of stains with each demanding a unique cleaning solution. We would again reiterate the importance of leaving this to your professional carpet cleaner in Merseyside.

    Pre Clean Spray

Before cleaning your carpet, our friendly carpet cleaning professional will first identify a cleaning solution to spray which is ideally suited to your carpet. This helps in breaking down the soil properly within the carpet’s fibre.

In addition, they will also establish the amount and strength of the cleaning solution required – so that the overall cleaning process can be carried out safely without damaging the delicate fibres of your carpet or upholstery. In the hands of an untrained professional, using the wrong solution or “over wetting” can severally damage your carpet, in some cases, permanently.

We practice extra caution when it comes to using the right strength, amount and type of cleaning solution – never using too much or too little – because we understand the importance of thorough cleaning while also prolonging the life of your carpet.

  • agitate

    Agitate

By using a counter-rotating brush powered brush, we are able to effectively massage in the pre-spray which has just been sprayed into your carpet pile so that the soil particles can be broken down properly. This is necessary as it makes it easier in the successive “rinse/extraction” stage to extract the loose soil.

During the agitation process, the custom-prepared chemical solution we use is given sufficient time to seep into the carpet before it is rinsed and extracted from your carpet. This ensures optimal results.

  • rinse

    Rinse and Extract

After the cleaning solution has had a chance to seep through the carpet properly, we use our bespoke high-powered extraction equipment to rinse and extract every bit of soil and residue form your carpet.

We take our time with this step because correctly extracting all the soil and dirt residue from the carpet is essential – residue left behind may cause your carpet to re-soil easily.

Much like the previous step, our technician will determine the most appropriate chemical solution to use when rinsing your carpets – one that yields favourable results without causing any harmful after effects.

    Grooming

Once we’ve ensured that the carpet is properly rinsed, the carpet will be groomed using a napping brush or carpet rake, this not only aids drying times but ensures the pile is correctly set after the cleaning process and looking its best.

  • dry

    Speed Drying

Air movers are placed to encourage airflow across the carpet’s pile which not only helps in cutting down dry times but also eliminates the likelihood of re-soiling and unpleasant odours once the cleaning process has been concluded.

    Final Inspection and Furniture Blocks

Once we are satisfied the carpet is dry enough for us to pack away, we will do a final inspection ensure all furniture is sitting on tabs or furniture blocks to protect it from dye transfer. You may be asked to have a quick walk through with us to explain and showcase what we have done for them.
